Hi Everyone!
We've been hiking for a week now (over 100 miles!) in sweltering hot temps with limited water. Way out of our zone. We landed in Warner Springs today and found a huge glorious ranch/resort that is great to hikers. We are staying here a night to rest up and relax away the many blisters on our feet. This place is gorgeous and we are so excited to spend a night here before we go back to the trail.
We just took our first showers and I couldn't believe the amount of dirt that had built up everywhere! It was so wonderful. We're going to eat at a real restaurant tonight for the first time this trip. No camp food tonight!
Our hike has been really good so far, we've been accelerating our mileage each day. Yesterday we hiked over 18 miles. We can feel our bodies adjusting and mentally we are getting used to this. Thanks for all your support, only 4 months 3 weeks to go!!
Love,
Luke and Jana
Oh yeah, Jana has a new trail name: Aloe. Pretty sweet. We are still waiting to give Luke a trail name, but that will be coming.
